How to Use GPT-6: Intelligent UI Prompts for Work

Still asking ChatGPT for a budget, getting a wall of text back, and then copying the numbers into a spreadsheet to build the table yourself? If there's cleanup left after every answer, AI isn't saving you as much time as it should.
GPT-6 is the new default model OpenAI rolled out in ChatGPT on October 7, 2026. The biggest change is Intelligent UI: instead of only text, answers can come back as tables, side-by-side comparisons, and small calculators you can actually interact with. This guide compares GPT-6 with earlier models, then walks through three prompts for a budget, a schedule, and a comparison table. At the end, you'll see how to turn meeting notes from daglo into a clean decision table.
What is GPT-6? ChatGPT's new default model

GPT-6 is the default model in the ChatGPT Chat tab as of October 7, 2026. Paid plans (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise) get GPT-6 Sol, and Free and Go users got GPT-6 Luna starting the next day.
- Where it works: Intelligent UI works from Instant through the deepest reasoning level in the Chat tab. The Pro reasoning option (GPT-6 Astra) doesn't support it.
- Limits: Intelligent UI has no separate quota. Your plan's usual limits apply.
- Not seeing it yet? If GPT-6 isn't in your model menu, it hasn't reached your account. The rollout is gradual.
Model names and plan details change often, so check the OpenAI ChatGPT release notes before you rely on them.
What is Intelligent UI, and what changed?
Intelligent UI lets ChatGPT pick the best format for each answer on its own. Text when text works, a side-by-side view when you're comparing, and a calculator you can tweak when there's math involved.
| Area | Earlier models | GPT-6 (Intelligent UI) |
|---|---|---|
| Answer format | Mostly text and markdown tables | Mixes text, visuals, and interactive elements |
| Math | Explains the result in text | Builds a calculator that updates as you change values |
| Comparisons | Lists or tables | Side-by-side views and diagrams |
| Timing | Answers after thinking and searching | Starts answering while it works, then adds findings without a new prompt |
| Prompting | You ask for a format ("make a table") | Picks a fitting format without being asked |
Prefer fewer visuals? On the web, turn off "Layout and visuals" in Settings. It reduces visuals but doesn't force plain text, so add "answer in text only" to your prompt if you need that. Older versions of the Windows and macOS desktop apps may not show Intelligent UI, so use the web or the latest mobile app.
How to use GPT-6: three prompts for everyday work

The trick with GPT-6 is to say how you'll use the result. Tell it whether you want to adjust numbers, move dates, or pick between options, and it chooses the right kind of view.
- Budget: "Plan a budget for a two-day team offsite for 12 people. I want to adjust per-person lodging, meals, and travel and see if the total stays under $2,500." → You get a calculator that recalculates the total as you change each line.
- Schedule: "Build a four-week launch plan starting the third week of November, with planning, design, build, and QA phases and the owning team for each week." → You get a week-by-week schedule.
- Comparison: "Compare three meeting room booking tools on price, integrations, and mobile support, and recommend one for a 10-person team." → You get a side-by-side view with the reasoning.

What to double-check with GPT-6

Tables and calculators from Intelligent UI look polished, but you still need to check the inputs. The more convincing the view, the easier it is to miss a wrong assumption.
- Check the inputs: make sure the prices, headcount, and dates match what you said.
- Ask for sources: for prices or plans that change often, ask ChatGPT to link its sources.
- Cross-check with another AI: for important decisions, compare with Claude or Gemini. Our ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini guide covers which tool fits which task.
Turn meeting notes into tables with daglo

The most accurate input for any table is what was actually said in the meeting. Transcribe your meetings with daglo and you can build decision tables from the record, not from memory.
- Transcribe and summarize: record a meeting or upload a file, and daglo produces a transcript that shows who's talking, plus a summary.
- Build tables in Board Chat: ask "Put this meeting's decisions in a table with owner, due date, and status," and get an answer grounded in the transcript that you can check against the original.
- Compare AI answers: daglo's all-in-one AI chat lets you use ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and more in one place, so comparing answers to the same question is easy.
Turn on Speaker ID and the owner column gets even more accurate. Speaker ID remembers the voices of the people in your meetings and automatically puts their real names in your next transcript instead of "Speaker 1." daglo is the first in Korea to offer this to every user.
